The One with the Range of Emotions

I was able to come home and read (the first three chapters of the book I have to review) and write (two-thirds done with the Garcia birthday story though I still have no song) but we all know that's not why I am here. I am here to talk about my show.......there is no reason to keep you waiting. No clicky on the cut if you dont want to be spoiled.
To start.....casual Hotch FTW!!! I know I should be paying attention to what was happening in the scene, and I really was, but I was also very distracted by the yummy. Khakis and a fleece.....meow. OMG, a deal with the devil, say its not so Shaughnessy (sp?). Hotch was angry, sad, peeved, all wrapped up in one.
--Garcia makes fun of Hotch never leaving the office but she would know since she always seems to be there as well. Go home people.
--21 victims before he even started up again, this is one of the most prolific serial killers they've had on the show and let me just say I am glad. Sometimes I want some carnage man......there are some real nuts out there and this one didnt give a shit who he killed and it was awesome! What does that say about me? Dont answer that.
--Damn, see and that shit on the roadside makes you never again want to trust the kindness of strangers. But you know what, they were goners either way so it doesnt matter.
--I know it was Prentiss' special episode last week but I assure you, she can do more than hold up scenery. Even JJ got more play. But I was very fond of the green shirt.
--How do I love Hotchner, let me count the ways. Sad, angry, strong, faltering, commanding.....is there anything this man cant do. I think the answer might be no people. And I am so OK with that.
--ROSSI!!!!!!!! You knew it was coming dont act surprised. By Hotch's side, shaking some sense into him when he needed it. I cringed when he had to bring up Gideon's crackup, the man lost someone he loved to a serial killer. If a nut killed Haley or Jack Hotch would have every right to lose it too. But he got his point across and I love him and I think that is going down as one of my favorite scenes ever. Yes, Hotch had tears, Rossi had guff.......major bromance moment.
--Damn Morgan, through a window. Did you see the man without a shirt, again I was distracted from the case for a few moments but managed to recover. And OMG the blood. I usually am not grossed out by such things but the sheer amount kinda had me clutching my mouth for a minute.
--I knew he was the Unsub. I knew as soon as he called Hotch and then got on the bus. It was made more obvious to me when he wrote out all the addresses on the bus windows. Hotch was all "Fuck you" on the phone, and then hung up on him.....I loved it. He looked so angry, like he wanted to put his fist through a wall. He didnt. We never get to see him unleash his anger. We have seen sadness and joy but never anger. I do realize he has been mad before and even got up in some faces, but he has never just let it go.....all of those instances were still controlled. I wonder why that is, its a human emotion we sometimes lose control of, I would have liked to see it. But I'll live. And while I'm at it, where the hell are Morgan's credentials? And then Hotch is all like "let it go"......practice what you preach baby. It took you a decade, lets give Derek a little more than an afternoon, shall we?
--All in all, I loved this episode. I loved it so much, I could hardly think of what I was going to say as I typed this all out tonight. They have been on a good run and with the Unsub escaping in the end (WTF with drinking his own blood, as well as storing it all that time.....eww), it might be nice to see the Reaper make a reappearance sometime in the near future. I want Hotch, as well as Morgan, to take this guy out. Seriously. Do society a favor. While we're at it, I think they could all stand to sit down with the FBI shrink in charge. Man, they have some serious suppression issues, pent up rage, sadness, and so much more. It makes them dedicated, to do what they do, I wouldnt want them not to be human and I love when it shows but holy hell, how many more of you is Rossi going to have to bring in out of the snow? Next week Garcia shines......about time. I mean, hell for me she always shines but there has been a serious lack of Garcia in this season for me so I am really looking forward to it.

Date: 2009-03-19 10:40 am (UTC)Someone else wrote in their journal, I dont remember who, what is with Rossi being everyone's BFF lately? I know Hotch has known him a long time but dammit its almost as if the others dont deserve his emotion. Morgan gets a "move on, get over it" and Rossi gets tears.....not fair.

Date: 2009-03-19 10:57 pm (UTC)Seeing Hotch get all teary eyed is sort of like that first time you see your dad cry. At least, for me... and it like... I don't know how to explain it. Does something to you.

Date: 2009-03-19 09:42 am (UTC)Garcia? Was there something in the trailer for next week? (You don't get them when you have to watch the episodes on shady online-sources and it isn't on youtube, yet).
Oh and a belated: I love your Emily-moodtheme

Date: 2009-03-19 10:43 am (UTC)There were many reasons to love this episode....I will have to watch it again with my mom soon as she was late getting home and came in just in time to see Hotch and Rossi bond....again.
Thank you thank you on the mood theme, I love it : )

Date: 2009-03-20 01:41 am (UTC)Your review is the only one I'll read anymore. Some people are too nit-picky and negative. You're perfect! ^_^ I loved that episode. It was one of the best I've seen! ^_^
My plotting went well until the middle *headdesk* That's my problem, I have an opening and an ending. The middle is almost always fuzzy...

Date: 2009-03-20 01:49 am (UTC)I go from the gut with my review, its why I write it right after the show ends. I dont wanna overanalyze, I sometimes love them, sometimes just like, but I always pick the points I want to discuss and give my overall view at the end. I told myself to stop reading others' reviews but I am drawn to them like eyes to an accident. Most of the time I am mad at myself for going there but sometimes people make good points. Some are nit-picky and negative though. I sometimes wonder if we all watch the same show, but we're all allowed our opinions.

Date: 2009-03-24 12:40 am (UTC)Anybody notice the little bruise under Hotch's eye in the first scene on the plane? I think it was under his right eye..but didn't see it in any of the other scenes. Too busy recovering from the hotness..the khaki pants and sweater..*breathe, girl, breathe*...
