The One Where I Don't Have A Lot to Say

Well, new CM tonight. Murry and I chilled at nine and got ready for ten. Spoilers under the cut.
This episode disturbed the hell out of me. Yeah, I am used to sociopaths, and even sociopathic kids but it just gave me the willies all over. It was well acted and well played and I thought it was a terrific episode but this will not be my usual review. I cant give a blow by blow, I am actually just too creeped out. To see a child with absolutely no remorse for the death of his brother. To see adults try to protect him while secretly knowing something is seriously wrong with him. Did they think the FBI would observe him for longer than 5 minutes and not know something was way off? I knew something was way off with him from the beginning but the writers did a good job of not making it about him, giving you just a sense of a devastated family. But as soon as the father said he didnt understand what was going on, I knew something was strange. He was old enough to understand, maybe not everything but enough.
I loved the team in this, the way they worked together, played off each other, played off Detective Lancaster. What a WTF, to get caught in the middle of this family drama while also working another case where boys were murdered by a dangerous pedophile. I didnt feel too bad about that Mo getting it all pinned on him but that would not serve justice. What were they going to do the next time little Danny lost his temper? And then to find out about the puppy, that just made me want to vomit. And all this little bastard wanted was potato chips and video games. Just the idea that sociopaths are born, have little hope straight from the womb......its so fuckin scary.
So while the episode didnt render my speechless in the sense that I am able to type something, it really got my in my gut. I thought it was amazing but it also kinda made me sick.......so I know it was good.
I gotta hit the hay, I have a long day tomorrow. Already did my first drabble for
cm_drabbles and someone else did one about Garcia's family so I dont think I am going to write the one I had in mind for her.......I will focus on the other characters and see what I come up with. There are definitely enough parental issues to go around. Goodnight guys.

Date: 2009-04-25 04:06 am (UTC)I started with criminal justice because I wanted to be an FBI profiler (though they say there is no such thing) since I was 11 and saw Silence of the Lambs. I have studied it extensively since then but gave up that dream somewhere in the middle.
And you are right, the kid in Season one was not a sociopath, just clearly troubled. The kid in Wednesday's episode just freaked me out, eating those potato chips while they talked about him stuffing plane parts down his brother's throat.

Date: 2009-04-26 01:59 am (UTC)I keep telling myself that it's okay if the FBI doesn't want me, because I can still do research and write novels about the FBI. But I have wanted to work for them for so many years....
Oh well, we'll see what happens. :P
