Hello friends. As we start off 2010 fans of Criminal Minds are pretty excited because the cmfanficawards are once again upon us. First, anyone who hasnt needs to go and join or watch the community. Nominations start on January 8th and this post is to highlight stories mcgarrygirl78, me, has written over 2009. Anyway, here we go...you can find everything under the cut.

Oh, wow, how clever, haha! I did my little 2009 Fic recap on my page (hint hint for those scrolling comments here, haha) but I don't think I could do outright "For Your Consideration" per noms, haha!

There is absolutely no rule against it...hell they take out whole ads in Variety for things like the Emmys and Oscars.

Also, we are not allowed to nominate ourselves so I have to let people know if they enjoy my writing they have to say so. When the time comes, in 5 days, I plan to be nominating many of the awesome fics I read this year.

Yeah, I remember that...I was mostly depending on the kindness of others for any noms I might get, hahaha!!! ("Nice to meet you, Tooks, I'm naive" LMAO!!) But I do cross share my stories with FF.net so that might help maybe?? (Haven't a clue really, haha)

No, you dont have to cross share. Most of it takes place on LJ but ff.net stories are allowed to participate. You're probably just fine staying here with the stories.

Quality over quantity....how many you have doesnt matter. The ones I read last year were really good. You could do a post like mine, highlighting the categories they fit into.

Oh, well, I would cross post anyway because I like to...and I have other fandoms written there too, haha! I usually post CM stuff here on LJ first and, if I remember, post them there after. (I figure, maybe, reposting a bit later there might catch some the LJ folks who missed it the first go-around too.)

Mmm, true, very true! Yeah, I thinking of that but then thought, like, where would I post it, you know? You have your own community and all...I certainly wouldn't feel right posting a "For Your Consideration" thing on a public community. I posted a review on my journal, if I have time I'll organize a new "FYC" version there too but, ya know, not on a public community.

Yeah, I feel you on the public comm thing. I am lucky in having a writing journal. I created it so that I would also have a place I controlled where my writing was kept, and it would keep too many people from being on my personal journal (even though all posts are f-locked except fics and episode reviews).

But still, its a great thing to have personal and writing completely separate.

Cant you post one in your personal journal though, so your friends can know to nom you. Cuz at least the beginning, the nomination period, is all about friends nominating friends, or fans nominating stories they just loved.

I honestly was really nervous about doing something like this but I swallowed that because I know people are forgetful, its a long year, and I might have ended up with no nominations and it would have been my fault.

True...true...so, yeah, probably sometime today I'll set up a little "FYC" post. Can't hurt, haha! (Today's busy, I'm working on a new article and a new fic, lol!) :D

I got two fics going in my mind, and I'm trying to scribble a little something, one a sequel to Just Breathe, and its also first of the month at my job and I do accounting so OMG, I'm so busy!

Wow, this must have taken you a while to do! But with an author as prolific as yourself, it's a really good idea to give your readers a "refresher" list of the fics you've written during the year (I know I've forgotten a lot of the fics I meant to nominate from Jan and Feb of 2009 - I'll have to do some major searching).

Actually, I am getting really good at HTML, it took about 20 minutes and I was on the phone with a friend the whole time. I was really proud of myself.

I know what you mean about finding earlier stories, OMG, its going to take some serious time. But I am so excited to do it.

Ok woman. Here's the deal. I EXERTED EFFORT (you make clap now, I'll wait) and have put this post on track. Firstly, make sure you join cmfanficawards because that's where you will make the nominations and vote.

Secondly, any of my stories people are interested in can be nominated for categories and the first four I think highlight me as an author overall. The list is just the ones that stood out to me as having the potential of to be the most likely to be heavily nominated and for winning. But in the end, I dont know.

So join the comm and follow batgurl88's rules when the time comes. I think the nominating starts in 2 days : )

Thank you. I was afraid to do it initially, didnt want to seem as if I was angling, but then I realized making people aware would be the only way they remembered and since I cant nominate myself, its others who make sure the stories are recognized.
