PLEASE DO NOT POST IN THE [livejournal.com profile] bau_inbox. THANK YOU.

They played a Grammy commercial and I am sure I will be singing that damn song till the weekend. But that's not what I'm here to discuss (and probably the less I talk about it the better). So, onward and upward.

This was a good episode, quiet but good. It started with two suicides, hanging always freaks me out. Then we jump right to JJ and her necklace. I knew there was something, there is always something with this crew.

Garcia on the plane, Garcia with computers, Garcia talking to the kid, really talking to him. Hotch saying they should always bring Garcia. Garcia knitting on the plane home, in pigtails. Have I mentioned I love Penelope Garcia? She was great in this episode. Totally awesome.

Prentiss in colors. Green, orange, and one more I'm forgetting because my memory sucks. Damn, it was just on. I like the side part better than the middle part but prefer both tothe bangs. Can you tell this is the superficial part of the episode review.

Morgan running, oops, still superficial.....too bad he didnt have to kick in the door later. maybe next week. Speaking of next week, did anyone else get a stay tuned and then no preview or was that a personal smite against me?

I dont know what it was, this was a good episode, I loved the kid Christopher, but I dont have a lot to say. Good teamwork. Good subtle Rossi. Not too much but good woobie!Hotch, though c'mon people, are we going to have to deal with mothers who have passed away for the rest of the season just to see the man squirm. And dude, JJ got another moment with Hotch! Here comes more superficial but dude, does Emily have to be in intensive care to get her moment and she'll be in a damn coma so she wont even know she's getting it. Ah well, that's what fanfic is for. Love you, Ed.....you do keep me on my toes.

I loved the end, on the plane, the star, Reid and the fairy tale, Morgan's killer grin, Prentiss and the hatorade....sometimes shits and giggles on my show, even in the midst of the sadness and pain, are my favorite part. That's what makes it real.

What did you guys think. Discuss, discuss, discuss (mostly because it will help my lame ass short term memory remember something I promptly forgot).

That's it guys, I'm pooped. Is this damn week over yet? [livejournal.com profile] lizi0527 inadvertently gave me an idea for a fic and this one might get a post-ep as well, I'm still thinking about it. And I'm out.

I feel you. Totally. This week, even with two days off, needs to be over. I need a weekend something fierce.

Liked seeing someone (even if it had to be local law enforcement) hug one of the team when it's clear they've been whumped. Liked seeing someone on the team acknowledge out loud that Hotch is still grieving and it's going to take a long time for him to heal. And I liked that it was JJ, because he does have a soft spot for her (I know, heresy to you, but I like it when any of the team gets under Hotch's mask).

Reid in the classroom was good, not enough Rossi for me (but there rarely is :P), and Paget did a lot with her limited material (dude, she is STILL Not Fine after the home-invasion rape case and getting hit by a truck and everyone knows it). Actually my problem was with sending Morgan in to talk to the kid. I'd have sent ANYONE in before I'd send in Morgan to talk to a withdrawn goth kid with a death wish. I'd have sent in Emily with Reid, come to think of it, and then Garcia (who was fabulous).

Anyone know the song they played in the beginning? I swear I've heard it before - very Tori-esque.

Oh I dont mind that it was JJ, I guess, but Prentiss has been through the fire through these past two seasons and no one has given her the pep talk, not once. She and Morgan talked a little in To Hell and Back but other than that, bupkis. I just want them to go a little deeper with her and stop using one sentence from Season 2 to make it OK that no one is looking out for her. They're a team....they need to do better.

And I love me some Hotch but, how should I put this.....enough. I know Haley's dead, I know he's been through the wringer but man, they all have at one time or another and it just seems as if the writers give more to one and none to the other. Its just something I've noticed that irks me.

Garcia owned this episode, I need no more reason to love her. But I'll take it : )

I didnt recognize the song at the beginning, I was kinda covering my eyes because hanging really bothers me. Not that I was covering my ears, but I kinda zoned out.

Prentiss has been through the fire through these past two seasons and no one has given her the pep talk, not once.

She got a good deal of one in "Demonology" from Rossi, I thought. He was there for her the way no one else seems to have been, and she opened up to him. But you're right, she has been through the wringer and ignored pretty much constantly for other characters.

And I love me some Hotch but, how should I put this.....enough. I know Haley's dead, I know he's been through the wringer

I agree on the Hotch-angst taking time from other characters, but I don't think it'd be very realistic to just ignore everything that's happened to him. Especially on the cases where he's obviously affected. I think the same thing about Reid in S2 - it seemed like the Spencer Reid Trauma Hour half the time, but it was realistic.

From: [identity profile] mcgarrygirl78.livejournal.com
Yeah, Reid in Season 2 got to be too much, I agree. I like the realism, for me its not the storyline they are taking Hotch on, they need to....its the creation of the storyline in the first place. I didnt see the point of killing off Haley, I wasnt impressed with the whole Foyet arc but its here now and I will see where it goes, I love TG getting to show his emotional range.

I also agree on the Rossi thing and I like Rossi but I just wish it had been someone else. Clearly not Hotch, as he just cant seem to connect with her emotionally (which leads me to another round of interesting thoughts and suggestions) but I kinda get tired of Rossi being the team "shrink".

Hey, we all whinge about something. In the end, I still love my show to bits.

I'd love to discuss it, but I haven;t seen the episode because the Raleigh, NC CBS station SUCKS!! Did I mention that already? ImageImage

Sounds like one I'll enjoy though. I hear you on the writers giving Hotch all the pain. I mean seriously...move on. Let someone else suffer for a while!

*big hugs*

It was subtle but enjoyable, if that's even the right word. Lets just say it was a decent ep, everyone did their jobs and I would watch it again. Plus Garcia rocks.

So I downloaded it this morning and watched at lunch (in fact I was almost late going back to work. *snickers*). I really enjoyed this episode. I think I'll be putting it in my top 5 for this season. Garcia was mondo fabulouso! As much as I love Hotch and Prentiss (and their scenes were great!) I loved the convo he and JJ had. I love that the writers showed someone on the team offering him support in that way. And AJ Cook delivered that scene wonderfully. Also, I think the lady sheriff had the hots for JJ.

The conversation he had with JJ just seemed...something was off about it, and my feelings have nothing to do with who I ship. When I watch the show, I watch and leave all the fun fantasies at the door. It was a good conversation, I guess, I probably cant put my feelings into words so I wont try but I feel them.

It was a good episode and I'll be happy to re-watch when the Season 5 DVDs come out.

I agree again, :) really great ep!

I totally agree with Hotch, they need to bring Garcia all the time...(how awesome would that be)

Great team interactions, pretty great strictly professional H/P togetherness, and Paget in some fun colors (have we ever seen her in orange before?)

The only thing I was not in love with was the JJ/Hotch convo...I mean you could see it coming a mile away, I dunno, for some reason it just didn't resonate with me. (and I am slightly biased b/c honestly if they had written that storyline for Emily, we would have gotten her clearly being upset the whole episode...and then never an explanation as to why...grrr Paget better get some gooood shit during sweeps)

Cute ending other than that though...I tend to love when they end an ep on the plane...team togetherness = win!

--This, this, a thousand times this. I am just so sick of someone picking up a pencil, writing one thing about Emily and then dropping the pencil and going to lunch.

But it was a good episode and some good H/P professional togetherness.....maybe even enough to squeeze out a fic.

I love endings on the plane as well, watching them decompress and go from being their last names to their first names, if that makes sense.

I gave you a fic idea?Wo-hoo.Great.Damn I'm goodCan't wait to read it.:D
Anyway I haven't seen the ep yet (time zones suck) so I'll be back soon with some more appropriate thoughts for this post:D
But I guess there wasn't any subtext.
Why is that JJ and Rossi always get their moments with the others?I love them to pieces but UGH.

Date: 2010-01-21 11:36 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mcgarrygirl78.livejournal.com
No subtext really but there was a 'vibe' probably, if you're a shipper, in a couple of scenes. I think I might do a post-ep fic and work on the idea you gave me as well. We'll see.

ETA: definitely come back and let me know what you think when you've seen it. It was an interesting episode.

OK,now I've watched the ep:)
I think it was quite good. Not as good as the last few but still good enough.
No subtext (or subsext:D) but there was definitely a vibe.I love it when they are paired together and although they were kinda in the back in this ep they hardly left each other's side.

What else..ohh got it:
Garcia,you rock!
JJ getting another moment with Hotch.Ok,they have a special relationship and everybody has a soft spot for JJ but why,oh why can't it be Emily for once?Ok,I'm done with the whining:D
Emily's story at end was really cute. And her face when Reid solved the puzzle was totally priceless."There's a lot to hate about you Doctor Reid" Or something like that:D

As for the superficial part:
I don't like Emily in orange.Red,blue,purple,white, hell yes.Orange,no.

The case:
I kinda liked Christopher too.Stupid parents are stupid. But honestly this was waaay beyond stupid.

I like the side part better than the middle part but prefer both tothe bangs. Can you tell this is the superficial part of the episode review.

I haven't seen the episode yet, but I can't stand Emily with a fringe. She is SO much more attractive without. The only time she was acceptable with the fringe was when she had her hair up in the pony tail.

And why was it that the weird fringe monster jumped from Emily to JJ between To Hell and Back and Nameless Faceless? Did you notice that? Emily's bangs grew out in the 12 hours she was home, and JJ got bangs during that same 12 hours. Weird. And now that JJ's fringe has disappeared, she not only looks younger, but more attractive IMNSHO.

Date: 2010-01-21 12:48 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mcgarrygirl78.livejournal.com
I did say JJ stole Emily's bangs just like Rossi stole Morgan's goatee in Season 3. I like JJ with them swept to the side, its cute. And Emily had more of a swept over look earlier in the season as well...now she's just full-on no fringe.

I think Paget will always be gorgeous no matter what, and I got used to the fringe (even liked it at times), but I'm not disappointed with the new hair. This is about Emily's 5th hairstyle in 3 seasons.

Ah yes, but I wasn't your "friend" then, so I did not know this. So you'll have to forgive me. Of course, it was weird with Rossi's goatee, as in that first episode with him there were some scenes where it was barely there, and others where it was quite thick. I guess they asked him to grow it for the show.

I totally agree that PB will always be very attractive - though for some reason it took me a while to realise this. Maybe because at first she seemed so pale and washed out. It's certainly not an opinion I have any more, though PB herself does seem to have a strange taste in clothes at times. Then again, that's true of so many actors and actresses.

I will definitely have to pay more attention to your comments on Emily and JJ's hair styles. :)

Date: 2010-01-21 01:46 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mcgarrygirl78.livejournal.com
I think that was the only comment I made about their hairstyles, but it was a goodie : )

Paget, much as I love her, is soooooo tacky. But she makes up for it with her quirky adorableness. I just wish she dressed more like Emily. She does OK in jeans and regular shirts but on the red carpet or something she is usually a disaster. I have no idea where she gets her tastes, or lack thereof, from.

Date: 2010-01-21 02:07 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] chiroho.livejournal.com
You're not wrong that she seems to have somewhat disastrous taste. Then again, she's not the only one. I remember looking at pictures of Cindy Crawford back when she was huge and thinking, you've got so much money, can't you pay someone to dress you to look good instead of white trash? So just because you're attractive and popular in no way gives you any dress sense. ;)

She does seem adorably quirky though. Maybe it's some sort of Massachusetts sense of humour, as I know other people from the area who seem to have a similar personality.

The few girls I know from New England; Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont respectively, are actually a lot like Paget in their adorable quirkiness so you could be right. I think I need to pack a bag and move to New England.

So just because you're attractive and popular in no way gives you any dress sense. ;)

It's colder and there is more snow - much more snow compared to PA. In fact, it's on average at least 5 degrees colder or something. I'm not sure you'd like it. :)

So much good stuff going on here (with the exception of the person who forgot to load the 'preview' for next week into the system!)especially Garcia..all worried on the flight out and then calm and knitting on the way home. And she can see that her charges are all okay. Well, most of them, Hotch and JJ are a little shaky, but holding on.

I thought this was a pretty good example of showing more than one character experiencing the same thing. One thing recently, I find the writers focusing on one character and the others kinda holding up furniture in the back. This episode, like last week's, showed the strength, and vulnerabilities, of more than one and check it out.....the force is still aligned, the Empire still stands!

I need redhead Garcia icons, pronto.

I talk a good game but when I'm watching my show, I just watch the show and dont worry about the shippy stuff. When I get it, I squee, when I dont, I refuse to let it affect how I feel about the show. Once I do that, I've crossed a line I do not want to cross.

Garcia = Love and she was soooo good in this episode. And the red hair is yummy : D
